Pearl (Cope) Davis

Services for Mrs. Lenora Pearl Davis were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist
church. Rev. N.N. Antonson, pastor, officiated. Burial was near Snyder at the Otter Creek
cemetery. Pitcher Funeral home was in charge. Mrs. Davis had been ill for a long time. She
had been making her home at the Passmore Rest Home since it had been built. She suffered
a light stroke Thanksgiving day and died in the Carnegie hospital Thursday, December 1.
She was born November 28, 1881, in Missouri. She moved to Indian Territory when nine
years of age and was married to William J. Davis on November 5, 1902. Six children were
born to them. She was preceded in death by her husband, two children in infancy and a son,
Venson Davis, in March, 1959. She was a resident of the Snyder area until 1934 when she
moved to Carnegie. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving her are: one daughter, Mrs. Iva DeVaughn of Joplin, Mo.; two sons, Albert and
Floyd Davis, both of Carnegie; one grandson, Thomas Wayne Davis, Carnegie; and three
brothers, John Cope, Amhurst, Texas, Frank Cope, Downey, Calif., and Jessie Cope,
Oklahoma City.
